Elizabeth is an award-winning children’s book author and illustrator with over two dozen titles to her credit, including her debut novel, A BIRD ON WATER STREET, winner of 13 literary awards. Elizabeth splits her time between Roanoke, Virginia, where she teaches Picture Book Design at Hollins University in the MFA in Children's Book Writing and Illustrating program, and Scotland, where she is continuing her studies at the University of Edinburgh. Elizabeth is invested in giving back to her community, having spent many years as an SCBWI officer, mentor, and board member for the Georgia Center for the Book. Elizabeth has spoken at countless schools, conferences, and festivals, and is well known for her TEDx Talk, “Is Your Stuff Stopping You.” She brings over two decades of art director and children’s book experience to all her endeavors. A native southerner, Virginia is her US base when she returns to teach each summer.
